The Cool Kids – Black Mags via Totally Flossed Out EP
It’s the bass. It obviously is. But it’s also the nonchalant flow. Dudes are on bikes throughout most of the video. And I don’t know, I kinda get sick of seeing the newest bentley or whatever foreign concept car that’s going to be released Nevuary 32nd. Remember when nothing was on T.V. on that sunday afternoon, and it was summer which means no football, no basketball, nothing. No e-mails or Instant Messenger. So you’d just open up the garage and hop on the two wheels and see what’s poppin around the neighbourhood? Most of my most memorable adventures as a kid started out like that. Oh and I mention this song because I’m a sucker for obnoxiously sexy doorknockers.
They could have chosen ANY other city, but they chose Toronto. Today they’re new album drops. And tonight they’ll be performing here. Instead of in the states, which, of course is incredible. I don’t mean to offend, but hip-hop shows are scarce up here. Nevermind an album release coinciding with a tour stop. I have every album (and chitlin circuits) so I guess you can call me a fan. Oh and don’t get it twisted, the album review is being written on my paper as you’ve read this.
Now Suzy Skrew had a partna named Sasha (Sasha), Thumper (Thumper)
I remember her number like the summer
when her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber – - party
but you can not call it that cause it was slummer
Well it was more like spend the night
Three in the morning yawnin dancin under street lights
We chillin like a villain and a nigga feelin right
in the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite
all of the bullshit we on our back starin at the stars above
(aww man) Talkin bout what we gonna be when we grow up
I said what you wanna be, she said, “Alive” (hmm)
It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes
I coulda died, time went on, I got grown Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home
to find lil Sasha was gone
Her mamma said she with a nigga that be treatin her wrong
I kept on singin my song and hopin at a show
that I would one day see her standin in the front row
But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school
With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper…
